About Me

John Sheryak

I am a Louisville native, grew up in Valley Station, and attended Jefferson County Public Schools and the University of Louisville (Business Admin., 1985), where I ran Track/Cross-Country and was involved in various organizations, including Pi Sigma Epsilon and was a founding member of the Finance Club.  After a 15 year career in banking and finance, I needed a new challenge and attended the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville.  In the following years, my law practice focussed on business transactions (business formation and ‘divorce”, acquisitions, and contract review/drafting), estate planning, probate, and real estate.

In 2014, I became part owner and Race Director of The Bourbon Chase, a 200-mile running relay “adventure tourism” event in Kentucky.  In 2019, I sold my interests in that company and have recently decided to reactivate my law practice, focussing on estate planning, probate, and helping provide legal guidance to small businesses.  With my many years’ experience in banking and law, combined with my experience as a small business owner, I am well-equipped to guide clients through various estate planning and business needs.

I reside in downtown Louisville and my hobbies include running, playing guitar, and sailing.  I am married to Kellie Sheryak and have two adult children, Spencer and Connor.
